Plaster only makes up a small part of the overall building fabric. However, it is the top few centimetres or even millimetres that determine our well-being. We perceive them, feel their surface and breathe in the room air that natural lime plaster cleans for us. In addition, natural building materials provide a sense of well-being that many plasters or building materials used today no longer offer.
As the crystalline structure of lime reflects light across the entire light spectrum, lime plaster or surfaces painted with lime paint have a special radiance and comfort.

Difference to modern building materials
Modern building materials can emit harmful substances that can trigger allergies and illnesses, as they may contain additives that are harmful to health.
Materials such as cement and synthetic binders inhibit the water vapor diffusion value of plasters and thus prevent walls from “breathing”. In addition, modern building materials are often problematic in terms of their disposal.
In contrast to many other products available on the market, our natural lime plasters are exclusively lime-based. This means that our products are free from cement, gypsum, preservatives or synthetic binders. In addition, we have been manufacturing our products without titanium dioxide since 2020. For these reasons, Hessler natural lime plasters are suitable for allergy sufferers and meet ecological building requirements. In contrast to the building materials currently in widespread use, Hessler natural lime plasters do not produce any construction waste to be disposed of as hazardous waste.

Our raw materials - natural and sustainable
Only natural hydraulic lime, white lime hydrate and lime putty are used as binders.
Aggregates are used:
- Limestone and quartz sands
- Marble grains
- Marble flours
- Mineral lightweight aggregates
are used.
A new addition is the use of the renewable raw material hemp.
